In my Solitude

In my solitude,
I sketch, I draw, and I paint,
A portrait of my flower, never to fade,

And the home of laughter unrestrained.

In my solitude
I see, I think, and I plan,
A tomorrow buried in fun,
A future engulfed with love,
And a life, the colors of a dove.

In my solitude,
I sob, I cry, and I weep,
For the unity, we could not keep,
For the laughter, we share no more,
And the play, we no longer adore.

In my solitude,
I sit, I stand, and I walk,
A path no man would trod,
A journey left for the waif,
And to a place of no relief
